Hatimoğulları and Bakırhan, met with the EU Delegation and diplomatic representatives from 30 countries, including the USA, France, the UK, Germany, Japan, Austria, Spain, Belgium, Greece, and Portugal, in Ankara. The meeting focused on recent regional developments, including the situation in Syria, political developments in Turkey, and the latest discussions on the possible resolution of the Kurdish issue.
Today, the EP Rapporteur on Turkey, Nacho Sánchez Amor, also visited our headquarters to meet with Co-Chairs Tülay Hatimoğulları and Tuncer Bakırhan, along with co-mayors Devrim Demir, Ahmet Türk, Gülistan Sönük, Saniye Bayram, and Mehmet Karayılan—who were replaced by government-appointed trustees.
The meeting addressed the political and legal damages caused by the AKP government's trustee policy, the situation of imprisoned elected officials, attacks on the opposition, political developments, and the Kurdish issue.
