Tülay Hatimoğulları:
Born in 1977 in Hatay, Ms.Tülay Hatimoğulları has been involved in socialist movements since high school. She conducted various activities to revitalize Arab culture and language. Ms. Hatimoğulları played roles in the establishment and management of the Middle East Arab Peoples Research Institute. She served as a director at the Human Rights Association. Additionally, she participated in the organization efforts of AMARGI Women's Academy and the Women's Labor Collective. Ms. Hatimoğulları contributed to the activities of the Turkey Peace Assembly, formed by the call of 301 intellectuals. She also took part in the establishment of the Unity for Democracy Movement, the Peoples' Democratic Congress (HDK), and the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP).
Ms. Hatimoğulları served as a Central Executive Committee member and co-chair of the Socialist Refoundation Party (SYKP), which is one of the constituent parties of the HDP. In the general elections held on June 24, 2018, she was elected as an HDP MP representing Adana. She continued her work in the HDP as a Central Executive Committee Member and as the Vice Co-Chair Responsible for Peoples and Beliefs Commission.
She was elected as Green Left Party (our name at that time)’s Adana MP in the 2023 general elections. On October 15, 2023, during the 4th Ordinary Grand Congress, in which our party underwent a name change, she was elected as the Co-Chair.
Tuncer Bakırhan:
Mr. Tuncer Bakırhan was born in 1970 in Kars. He graduated from the Faculty of Economics at Uludag University. He has been actively engaged in the Kurdish political movement since his university years, faced imprisonment in 1989, 2011, and 2016 due to his political activities. He held various roles in the HEP Youth Branch and participated in different levels of pro-Kurdish parties following the HEP tradition.
He served in the Central Executive Committee of HADEP (People's Democracy Party). From 2003 to 2005, he served as DEHAP (Democratic People's Party) Chair. After DEHAP was dissolved due to a closure case, he continued his political activities under the DTP (Democratic Society Party). In the local elections on March 30, 2014, he was elected as the Co-Mayor of Siirt from the DBP (Peace and Democracy Party). In 2016, Turkey’s Ministry of Interior appointed a trustee in his place.
Mr. Bakırhan was elected as our Siirt MP in the May 2023 elections when our party was known as the Green Left Party. Later, during the 4th Grand Congress held in October 2023, he was elected as our Co-Chair.
